           EVOLUTION OF FOOTBALL

The history of English football is a long and detailed one, as it is not only the national sport but England was where the game was developed and codified. The modern global game of football was first codified in 1863 in London. The impetus for this was to unity English public school and university football games. There is evidence for refereed, team football games being played in English school since at least 1581. An account of an exclusively kicking football game from Nottinghamshire in the 15th century bears similarity to football. England can boast the earliest ever documented use of the English word “football” (1409) and the earliest reference to the spot in French (1314)

England is home to the oldest football clubs in the world, the worlds oldest competition (the FA cup founded in 1871) and the first ever football league (1888). For these reasons England is considered the home of football

Short Story Review : An Internet Baby

The illegal practice of child selling has become a common feature of the modern world. 'An Internet Baby', the short story written by Xiaolu Gou reveals the story of a young Chinese couple who decides to sell their baby on the internet. The two people, Weiming and Yuli, have their own arguments to justify their decision. Weiming is a 19-year-old man who is already working nearly 19 hours a day. So his motive  for selling their baby is money. If we take the case of Yuli, she is an 18-year-old girl. She has a dream to get her diploma and start a career in a big city. So they decides to sell the baby for 8,000 yuan. But a couple from Wenzhou show their willingness to buy the babyfor the double price 16,000 yuan. The funny thing is that no one gets the benefit of the child as the baby falls into the lake in the end of the story.
Here, the author seriously depicts the abuse of childhood. The young people don't think that what would be the condition of their baby if they sell him to others. For children, childhood is timeless. It is always present that matters for them. Children deserve the caring and love of their parents. It is the right of children to stat with their parents and it is the duty of the parents to look after their children. It is to be considered that they are also human beings and they too have the right to live in this world without fear or favour. Through selling the baby, his parents deny this right of the baby.
The major reason behind the child sale, according to the author is poverty and greed for money. Poverty is a big enemy to human happiness. it certainly destroys liberty and it makes some virtues impracticable. The misfortunes of poverty carry with them nothing harder to bear than that it makes man ridiculous. But the sale of the child is not the real solution to eradicate poverty. The resources of Earth are open to everyone. By utilizing them properly, one can lead a very comfortable life without the fear of poverty and hunger. as Tom Lehrer said : Life is like a sewer, what you get out of it depends on what you put into it.
Through this story, the author really ridicules the modern people who do not know the value of others life and gives importance only to their dreams and ambitions....

FILM REVIEW
                                   Debt

‘Debt’ is a State Award winning Malayalam short film cast by the famous actor Lal and the new face Aryan. The story is written by Sachi and the film is directed by Lal Jnr under the production of Lal Creations.
It is a completely emotional movie which focuses on a father son relationship and how a serious problem in their life changes the usual flow of currents of life that leads to the utmost anger and grief. The film takes us in to a family in which the father’s business is collapsed due to the global depression and the whole sources of the wealth are under the threat of confiscation with a number of debtors waiting outside. The suicide attempt made by the mother who died later and the father who was saved creates a pain-stricken atmosphere where the son realizes the burden he has to bear for his family. But as a son brought up seeking only a happy and luxurious life finds just a question mark before him and becomes very upset and utterly ruined in front of life. Consequently he turns to be angry towards his father and at a point of time he loses his sense and conceives of an attempt on his father’s life.
The movie reveals the mindset of a father who wants to depend on his son whom he trusts to be a consolation but was altogether distressed when he heard the blaming words “couldn’t you have burnt into ashes?” .While the father goes to die by turning on the gas stove by himself the movie makes us think whom should we blame whether the father for bringing up his son offering all the luxuries without informing any of the problems or the son for not having a sense of responsibility towards his father and taking a quick decision to murder and run away with his father’s Life Insurance amount.
On the whole ‘Debt’ is a realistic movie which throws light on the modern society in which money is important above all and the tremendous value of intimate relationships becomes loose. In a quest for money and ecstasy in life some valuable things are getting lost which are the founding stones of good society. Thus the movie conveys a message to the youth who fail to face the realities of life which are assumed by them a bed of roses.
